Doosan Bears set a KBO League record for most runs scored in a single game with a victory over the 'front-running' KIA Tigers.
Doosan won the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League with a 30-6 victory over KIA at KIA Champions Field in Gwangju on Wednesday.
Doosan scored 30 runs on 28 hits and 14 extra-base hits on the day, breaking the previous record of 27 runs set by the Samsung Lions on May 4, 1997 against the LG Twins.
Doosan, which recorded its second straight win, remained in fifth place with 53 points (2 wins, 2 draws, 50 losses).
KIA, the victim of a humiliating record, suffered its 40th loss of the year (60-2), narrowing its lead to five games over second-place LG (54-2-44), which escaped a two-game sweep on the day.
